Genesis is thrilled to announce a great opportunity for the drum corps to reach more communities and reduce the travel burden on auditioning students. Our outreach project begins this summer during our 2017 DCI National Tour. Two community performances have already been announced in the Austin TX and Oklahoma City OK areas, with several more coming out soon. Prior to these performances, Genesis will be hosting leadership clinics and various other interactive opportunities with the host band programs.
In the fall of 2017 Genesis will also be hosting one day clinic and audition events as part of their 2017 FENIXperience tour. Current stops include Oklahoma City OK, Dallas TX, Lubbock TX, Pecos TX, Houston TX and McAllen TX. All events are leading to our annual FENIXperience Camp in Austin TX! "Our hopes are the same as every organization that host these types of events." says Magonigal. "We hope to help students gain access to a World Class experience while reducing the travel costs, especially around the holidays. We have also been very fortunate to have formed great relationships with schools and families in these communities and we are looking forward to sharing the Genesis experience with them."
More information will become available as the dates draw closer and details will be on our website as well as all of our social media outlets. Check back often to keep up with Genesis!

Beginning today, anyone can be a part of the Fenix family from wherever they are with the launch of the Sponsor-A-Meal program. Through the Fenix Store, friends, family, and drum corps fans from all over can sponsor a meal for the staff and performers of Genesis DBC. Corps Director, Chris Magonigal, notes that “this is a great and helpful solution to anyone wanting to help without the availability to travel with us or to a site to volunteer.”
Our traveling volunteers also acknowledge the happiness expressed by performers when they find out that someone they know has sponsored a meal in years past.
Jamie Bayless, our volunteer manager, says, “The smiles on their faces are what really make the meal sponsorships worth it. The performers are always excited to know that a friend or family member from far away wants to support them. It only makes sense for us to let everyone know that they have the opportunity.”
The money saved from having a meal sponsored will go towards the execution a more smooth and comfortable tour.
